I believe that through little gestures you can produce big results, especially for people who can’t afford them. My thoughts are focused on those who are not given the same privileges of those living in europe

To support, share, build, invent, realize, imagine, respect, paint, write, interpret and listen is what I will do with the children in Mexico.

Laura will travel to Mexico to develop her idea “friends of the kamishibai”, that will positivly impact the inclusion of children through an innovative method.

The project will take place in the region of Oxaca and the region of Chiapas that have been both affected by the recent earthquakes.

Laura will organise a  workshop where the children will invent their own stories for the theatre and take over the following tasks:

  • a wooden structure for the Kamishibai theatre
  • painted pictures of the stories they have invented
  • organisation of a final event for the presentation of the results of the projects work with intercultural parallelism

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.85″ background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”justified”]

They will use an approach based on an active methodology: the workshop will be the instrument. It will act as a place of confrontation, connection and creative and expressive work where the children can find their own potential and lose stereotypes in a journey through images, literature, invention, construction, design and colors, figures and contours.

To cut, smooth, nail and fix the wood, imagine together, invent, write, design, color, act… specificly for the construction and writing of the text the children can be helped with suggestions and solutions while learning the concepts of beginning, middle and conclusion in a simple and intuitive way until they become able to write narrative texts, codes and messages independently.

Il Kamishibai:

The Kamishibai theatre comes from a remote japanese tradition. Between the ’30 and ’50, at a historical moment in which there was no computer or television, the story teller (kamishibaiya) travelled on simple bicycles to carry around their storys. That was a tipical theatre of the last century.

This genuine artists have been representing graficly images of the story to tell and through the wooden structure of the theatre (butai), they told their storys. “kami” (paper) and “shibai” (theatre, dramatization).

The peculiarity of this storys are the images. Together with the backround sounds they take their audience to an evocative world.

It have been replaced by television and recently rediscovered in Japan and other countries of the world, from Europe to South America.

The project

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.85″ background_layout=”light” text_orientation=”justified” module_alignment=”justified”]

The self-handling of the little theatre, like every manual activity, brings the children in a situation of self sperimentation in the use of dexterity with handcraft work. They try their hand with the materials at their disposal, understand and learn the names and the functions of it, measure, follow the project, use the appropriate instruments.
Supported by the social worker/professional they learn to respect the time of the other partecipants, in the end they see their work accomplished to finally see the play realised.
